Eco friendly cars between hydrogen and chocolate

A Warwick University ‘s team produce a Formula 3 race car completely made with eco friendly materials. From Mazda the new hydrogen car

WorldFirst is a vegetables made car. The fairing is made with potatoes, steering-wheel with carrots, fuel is chocolate; researcher also used only recyclable raw materials in combination with fibres, extracts of fruit, vegetables and plants, to make components, materials and oils on the same level of carbon fibres, plastic and oil. This is a new invention of WMG group, from Warwinck University, Coventry. Chocolate at the moment is illegal as gasoline, but researchers aren’t worried.
The goal in fact was to show that qualities like dynamism and speed are associable to eco friendly materials. James Meredith, Project Manager of WMG says : “It was very exciting to work on a project, it was very important for our team to develop a real example of an ecologic race car. The WorldFirst wipe away the story that efficiency must be compromised while producing an eco friendly engine for cars of future.

By Mazda instead we have the RX- 8 Hydrogen RE, from Oslo, after 18 years of study, the first car alimented by hydrogen. Tested by Crown Prince and by transport minister, mrs Liv Signe Navarse, on the occasion of the opening of two new hydrogen refuelling stations, the HyNor station ( by Hydroen and Norway).
For HyNor project, engineers had to produce specifications like left driving and manual gear, to respect European and Norwegian parameters. The model has a rotating engine with double alimentation, to allow change to oil alimentation where there aren’t hydrogen stations. After delivery this first version of RX-8 Hydrogen RE, Mazda will produce other cars with Norwegian specifications for HyNor project, with commercial leasing agreement, beginning from this summer.
